Pyke's BIO
Born and raised in the nasty cold of Northern, Wisconsin, “Pyke” came from the edges of the high mountaintops into the radio spotlight, and has taken the airwaves across the country by storm. His electric voice and eclectic personality makes for exciting radio, and his demeanor makes listeners a part of his experience. His style of radio has taken major markets and turned them upside down.
Immediately after graduating high school, Pyke moved to the slopes of Colorado, competing in snowboarding. He received accolades for his achievements on the mountains, and left his mark in the Colorado Rockies. His longing for the radio airwaves brought him back to the Midwest, where he became the van driver for a local radio station in Minneapolis, MN. While co-owning a snowboard shop in the city, Pyke was brought under the wing of a young on-air jockey named Cane, whose face can now be heard on XM and throughout major advertisement billboards across the country. For two years, Pyke produced and costarred in Cane’s radio show, which landed the young star a gig at WHTZ-FM (Z100) in New York City.
With the #1 market under his belt, Pyke began to work overnights among many other duties to the station, and his loyal fan base began to develop. Pyke stayed in the big apple, but changed formats, going from top 40 to the hard rock and alternative WXRK (KROCK) NYC as the late night and ovrnight personality, leaving the station and waving goodbye just as Howard Stern would be walking in to start his morning show. Pyke’s next move was to WMRQ (Radio 104) in Hartford, CT, where he took over the highlighted nighttime spot. His on-air abilities allowed him to take his show to # 1 in the market. His hard work and dedication to the airwaves landed him a gig at WKSC (KISS FM) in Chicago, where he was back at Top 40. Returning to Gotham city back to WXRK (KROCK) for the swing shift for a summer stint landing him his own morning show at WSSR (Star 95.7) Tampa Florida. Despite taking his morning show from 15th Persons 18-24 to #4 in just 11 short months the station flipped to Hip Hop. After all the smoke had cleared Pyke has landed strong at legendary rocker WNCD Youngstown.
An avid extreme sports opportunist, Pyke spends his free time on boards, whether its snow, surf or wake. Also a avid fighter in the mixed martial arts world look for Pyke to bring his No Holds Barred attitude to the airwaves With many of today’s Disc Jockeys crossing into new territory on the television, in film, and beyond, Pyke brings the kind of spirit, tenability and exuberance that will make all tangents of media soar.
